The following is a list of hardware that has been approved by the KGBSD tech dept.  The items in this list make up the core of our locally supported materials.  These hardware items are not only allowed on the network, but are serviceable and supported by the Computer Services (CS) tech dept.  By establishing this list, we can ensure the highest level of support to you, the end user.

    Items not on this list will not be supported by this dept. and should not be purchased or connected to the network without approval of CS.  If you have a question about an item or would like to see if an item can be added to the list please contact the CS tech dept. at 225-0744.

Approved list of supported hardware:

• iMac computers and laptops (purchased directly from Apple)
• Power Mac computers and laptops (purchased directly from Apple)
• Dell Optiplex computers running Windows XP Pro (directly purchased from Dell)
• Cisco 3600 series switches
  

    The only hardware allowed will be industry standard equipment, except where materials of equivelent quality can be substituted and only upon approval of the Computer Services dept.
