Here a couple of links for online seminars on what Adobe Contribute is, and some good overviews of how to use it.

If you received this email and are not the person in your department who will be making use of contribute for maintaining content of your Site/Page, then please forward this on to the person who will be responsible for maintaining your online content.

First is a basic On Demand Seminar that briefly covers the basics of Contribute. I recommend everyone watch this one, especially if you will not have the time to watch the longer second one.

Most of the information in this seminar is geared towards Contribute 3, and will still be very useful even though we will all be using Contribute 4.

One thing I want to mention is how to access more information from this interface during the video and once the video has completed.

At the bottom of the page that will open are buttons for pausing/paying the video, as well as buttons for jumping ahead to the next chapter of the video.

At the top of the interface is a button labeled Browse; when you first hit browse it will open to a list of seminars on several different applications from Macromedia, now all owned by Adobe.

On the left side below Seminars is a Source labeled “Modules” this  opens a window on the top right with a list of Adobe products, By clicking on “Contribute” you will be able to access a list of all the chapters you just saw incase you wish to review or watch them again later.

Second is an in depth, hour long Breeze session on Contribute 4

This one is basically a “sit back and watch” session.

However, if you wish to access a menu of all the components of this seminar, or jump to a specific chapter, there is a button at the bottom right that looks like a sheet of paper with an arrow.

You can click this and it presents a list of all the components of this video for later review or for jumping ahead.

This is the main video of concern for learning how to use Contribute.

NOTE: this appears to be live but it is prerecorded.

Thirdly, if you wish to learn more about contribute in a classroom type environment but from the leisure of your own desk or home, there are live online seminars at the following links.

Adobe Contribute Online Live Seminar Series

http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/event/index.cfm?event=detail&id=590654&loc=en_us

Education eSeminar Series (these are geared towards educational establishments but are not specific to Contribute, but to a range of Adobe Software)

http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/event/index.cfm?event=detail&id=35838&loc=en_us

Hope this is useful for those of you who will be working with Contribute everything I can teach you can be learned from these links.

If you have questions for me or for other people this is being sent to please REPLY ALL, so that everyone can benefit from your questions and the answers.

Remember there are no stupid questions, only stupid people (and by stupid people I mean ones not asking questions when they need help).

NOTE: the class scheduled for this coming Wednesday on Contribute will be postponed until everyone has had a time to review this information.

I will email again when a new date has been set.
