Use these steps to locate your MAC address on a Windows XP based PC.

Warning: If you do not have administrative rights to the machine you are using you may not have access to the control panel.  If you do have administrative rights but do not see the control panel in your start menu or are not sure if you have administrative rights SELECT>START>RUN and type in the run field "control panel" without the quotations and hit Enter.

Step 1:

Select START on your task bar then select Control Panel.

Your MAC address is listed as your "Physical Address" under properties in the Network Connection Details window.

The MAC address of the above machine is 00-18-8B-54-21-21.

Other Examples of the same address may look like this : 00:18:8B:54:21:21  or 00188B 542121.

Note: Dashes, hyphens and colons are not actually part of the MAC address; they are just put there to make human reading easer.

Note: MAC addresses are different for each network device.  If your machine has more than one ethernet card, a wireless card ,or any other networkable port, you will have more than one MAC address.
