"Document cut and paste from email, below instructions are more or Less accurate."
If you haven’t already, the Tech Dept highly recommends that you use Firefox as your browser. You can download Firefox here for OSX --> Firefox
More specific instructions:
- Click on the above link
- Click save if asked, or if the Astaro download with a % to down load wait.
- A new window will open. When the message says “Download Completed”, click on the picture of the orange disk. (An icon named Firefox.dmg will appear on your desktop)
- Read every word of the agreement : ) and then click Accept
- An installation box will pop up; open your hard drive and drag the “fox around the world” icon to your Applications folder
- A Firefox icon (looks like a disk drive) appears on your desktop
- Quit the browser you used to download Firefox (Safari? Explorer?)
- Double click on the Firefox icon in your Applications folder to open Firefox
- Choose whichever browser you were using to import settings from, or choose to not import any settings (most people want their old bookmarks imported)
- Choose which Home Page choice you want
- Click Done
- Drag the Firefox icon from your Applications folder to your dock to create a shortcut to Firefox
- Set Firefox as your default browser by clicking “Yes”
- You can throw away both of the Firefox icons on your desktop
Please see your Building Tech Rep if you run into problems. Tech Reps, please let me know if I’ve made a mistake in these directions!
Thanks, Tammy |
